Fairport Harbor free music series is set

FAIPORT HARBOR – Carlos Jones and the PLUS Band are set to headline the first concert in the 2021 Live @ The Lighthouse music festival series.

Organizers of the Fairport Harbor Arts and Culture Alliance called the opening concert “reggae in the harbor.”

Carlos Jones and the group PLUS will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 10 on the Main Stage, located at the Lighthouse Amphitheater behind the Fairport Harbor Marine Museum and Lighthouse, 301 Huntington Dr.

The first parts of Akron’s Land of Panda begin at 3 p.m., followed by Columbus’s Quasi Kings at 5 p.m.

Food trucks that will participate include the Wild Spork (100% plant-based vegan), Jackpot Chicken (wings and comfort food) and Kona Ice (flavored crushed ice). Beer and wine will be available for purchase.

Three groups will perform in Jerry Garcia’s 79th Birthday celebration on Sunday August 1: Papa Bear at 2 p.m., Sunshine Daydream at 3:30 p.m. and Dupree’s Dead Band – Northeast Ohio Grateful Dead Tribute – will play two 6:30 a.m. sets at 10 afternoon

The Fall Funky Jam will take place on Saturday, September 25. Pillars of Rome, Jul Big Green, Willie Phoenix and Broccoli Samurai are expected to play. It starts at 2 p.m.

In a statement, Music Director Willie Tharp said the event went beyond a simple free performance, saying “These are not just concerts, they are basically one-day festivals.”

The non-profit Fairport Harbor Arts and Culture Alliance aims to support the arts community in the village of Lake County.
